When it comes to fulfilling your dreams, there are three Zones in your life.

  • Comfort Zone
  • Courage Zone
  • Crazy Zone

The reason why people don’t succeed in life is because they stay with their Comfort Zone. They remain stuck. And they stop dreaming.

We remain in our Comfort Zone because of fear, selfishness, and laziness. David could have just stayed taking care of his sheep. But an opportunity came to his lap—to defeat the Giant.

We get into our Courage Zone because of selflessness, mission, and trust. David volunteered to use his gift of the slingshot—the same gift he used to defeat the bear—to defeat Goliath.

We get into our Crazy Zone out of ignorance, pride, greed, and envy. King Saul offered David to use the Royal Armor, Sword, and Shield. Thankfully, David refused. Because the slingshot was his core gift, not the Royal stuff. Successful people are al little bit crazy, not totally crazy.

Don’t stray away from your core gift.

I’ve seen many businesses who moved out of their core expertise and did something totally different. Many of these companies are gone today.

When you ask the business owner, “Why did you do that crazy thing?” he’ll say, “We just wanted to diversify.” But here’s the truth: Diversification, most often, is Diworsification.

These diversifying companies suffered huge losses because they took for granted the long learning curve they had to go through to succeed in a new industry.

This Was Why David Won Over Goliath

David knew better.

In the Bible, a young man named David was going to fight the giant named Goliath.

David’s core gift was a simple slingshot. He was very good at it. With it, he was able to fight lions and bears.

When he was about to face the giant, King Saul wanted David to win and so gave the young boy his very own Royal sword, Royal shield, and Royal armor. They were the best weapons all of Israel had. But when he tried it on, he was a like a walking Christmas Tree. Here’s the truth: What is the best in the world may not be the best for you.

Our problem? We’re insecure. We get envious at what other people are doing and what other people have.

No matter how successful you become, you always compare yourself with someone who is better in one area of your life. At the height of the success of the Beatles, they still were comparing themselves with the success of Elvis Presley.

Thankfully, David realized this wasn’t his core gift. He returned the Royal sword, Royal shield, and Royal armor and picked up his humble slingshot.

And that was how he defeated Goliath—by a single stone shot from his slingshot.

Question: What Is Your Slingshot?

What is your core gift?

Let that by your fire.

My core gift is communication. As long as I stick with it, I succeed magnificently. Anytime I stray away from that gift, I fail magnificently. Today, all my ministries and businesses are based on my gift as a communicator.

Focus on your gift.

Here’s the key: No matter how imperfect your gift is, just keep using it!

Fail with Style

Friend, don’t be afraid of failure.

Why? Everyone has to fail.

So don’t just fail. Fail with “style”.

So you never stop failing!

I have a new motto: If you stop failing, you stop growing.

There’s only one condition I hold myself in making mistakes: How do you know the difference between wise and foolish people? Some people think wise people don’t make mistakes and foolish ones do. That’s not true. Wise people and foolish people make mistakes all the time. Except that the wise people makes new mistakes everyday. And foolish ones make the same old mistakes over and over again.

Friend, use your gift. Make mistakes.

May your dreams come true,
