Do you believe God wants you to be happy?
Someone asked me, “Bo, If God wants me to be happy, why did He give us difficult people in my life?”
Good question.
Because it’s not a problem to be happy with people who are easy, gentle, and kind.
But why did God give us Mr. Nega? The Complainer? The Drama Queen? The Sensitive One? Miss Forgetful? Mr. Lazy?
Why does God give us unlikable people?
Does He want us to be happy?
By the way, I’m NOT talking about Abusive People.
If someone is abusing you, you must tell them to STOP.
Truth: We teach people how to treat us.
If we tolerate their abuse, we’re teaching them that it’s okay to abuse us.
In this essay, I’m not talking of Abusive People.
I’m talking about Annoying People.
There are PLENTY around you.
And if you examine yourself, you can be annoying too.
So why did God give us annoying people?
Reason: He wants us to grow in Love.
At the end of the day, only love makes us really happy.
Ultimately, life is all about relationships.
And having good relationships means you can live a happy life.
Because relationships are all about love.
And God’s greatest commandments are all about love.
And that’s all the proof you need to know that God wants you to be happy.
Today, I urge you:
Grow in patience.
Grow in kindness.
Grow in generosity.
Grow in selflessness.
And you will grow in happiness every day.
