In today’s modern world, there are ways of earning money that were not possible 100 years ago or 50 years ago or even 10 years ago.

For example, many of my friends are earning good money through Multi-Level Marketing or Network Marketing.  Like anything else, there are good options and bad options.  Choose only companies with great products and great program, and great people.

Another example: My sister buys stuff from garage sales and flea markets and re-sells the stuff to Amazon.  It sounds so simple, but she earns a lot of money doing that.

And then there are virtual careers.  People who stay at home and earn in dollars by serving people they only meet online.  One guy I know edits photos of houses for sale and earns P20,000 a month.  Not bad for a few hours of work.  (Jomar Hilario has a book out with that title, Virtual Careers, available at www.kerygmabooks.com/shop.)

One person teaches English to Koreans via Skype—and earns P40T a month.

A friend makes wooden model planes and sells them in eBay.  He hired six guys to work in his garage.  Each month, he earns a little bit money.  How little?  He earns only P500,000 a month.  Tsk, tsk, such a pity.

One time, I took an Uber and interviewed the driver.  He was not the owner of the car, just a hired driver.  He said he earns P27,000 a month.

My message: If youre willing to learn, you can earn any amount of money you want.  Nothing can stop you.

Our problem? We don’t want to learn.  We don’t want to start from the bottom and start as a seed.  We don’t want to sow in the land and wait for harvest.

What is your seed?

Bring to God your seed today.

Let’s look at the New Testament and how they used their wealth…

How Wealthy God-Followers Used Their Wealth

In the New Testament, there was Joseph, who the Bible calls “the rich man of Arimathaea” (Matthew 27:57).  He was rich enough to own a tomb and let Jesus be buried there.  And that tomb was where the greatest miracle in the history of the world happened.

Message?  Giving opens your life to miracles.

The Bible also mentions about rich women who supported Jesus.  Luke 8:3 says “Joanna, the wife of Cuza (Herods household manager), Susanna, and many others who provide for them out of their own resources.”

This still happens today.  I believe many churches and ministries would close down if financially blessed women stopped giving to them.  God is using their generosity to fund His work.

Jesus also healed the daughter of a wealthy Centurion.  According to Luke 7:5, this guy loved the Jews so much, he “built them a synagogue.”  Even today, many churches are built by godly wealthy people.

And Paul wrote to a wealthy guy named Philemon who owned a house and possibly a number of slaves.  It was big enough to have a guest room for missionaries. In Philemon 22, Paul says,Please keep a guest room ready for me, for I am hoping that God will answer your prayers and let me come to you soon.” When I was a poor missionary, I was able to preach from one city to another, from one country to another, because good people opened their homes to me.  One of them was Lydia, a saleswoman from Thyatira, a merchant of purple cloth. She was baptized along with all her household and asked us to be her guests.  (Acts 16:13)

My message?

God can use rich people to do His work.

May your dreams come true,
Bo Sanchez
