Friend, if you want God’s promise of abundance to happen in your life, you’ve got to dirty your hands.
You want a greater marriage? A more intimate family life? A more successful business? A better job? Stable finances? Better health?
You can’t stop at saying that you want it. You have to stand up and work at it.
The Bible says, All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. (Proverbs 14:23)
Imagine you’re thirsty.
And there’s a cold glass of water on a table at the other side of the room.
What will you do?
You don’t pray and intercede for the glass of water to go near you.
You don’t cast out, “I command the spirit of thirst to leave me, in Jesus’ name!”
You don’t sing, “Come, glass of water, I need you. Come, glass of water, I pray. Come with thy strength and thy power. Come in your own special way…”
No. You actually walk across the room, take the glass in your hand, and drink it!
It’s all about action.
Take The Promised Land
When the Israelites were about to enter the Promised Land, they saw giants living there, ready to fight tooth and nail for their territory.
I really don’t know what they were expecting. A welcome committee? With a bugle band? Streamers and balloons, with people saying, “Yehey, the Israelites are here!” Did they expected the inhabitants to say, “Here, take our homes and our farms. They’re all yours!”
Whatever they expected, they were all dashed to the ground.
Because they were greeted by Giants. With giant swords and giant shields and giant spears and giant walls surrounding their cities.
To enter God’s Promise, they had to fight.
They had to work.
They had to hustle.
