Below is the largest jigsaw puzzle in the world that’s commercially available. It has (gasp) 24 thousand pieces!

You can buy it for P20,000. But I think you have to pay ME P20,000 to make this jigsaw puzzle! But I’ll finish it in 300 years.

Hear my message: Your past is like a giant jigsaw puzzle–and God is putting the pieces together to make a beautiful picture of your future.

But your special jigsaw puzzle has BILLIONS of pieces. And each event in your past is like one piece of the puzzle.

Each piece makes no sense. On its own, it means nothing. It only means something if you put them together. Once you put them together, you say, “Aha!”

There are some pieces that are so dark, you’d wonder, “What use is this particular dark piece?” But each dark piece has a purpose. Without those dark pieces, the puzzle won’t be complete.

In the same way, your past also has dark pieces that you wish weren’t there. Tragedies. Sickness. Failure. Abandonment. Separation. Divorce. Abuse. But they’re there for a reason. They’re there to complete YOU.

Today, I want you to see your past in a totally different way. And what made you grumble will now make you grateful. You’ll start thanking God for everything that has happened in your life–even for those dark pieces in your past…

Your Past Wasn’t Perfect,

But It Was Perfect For Your Purpose.

What makes you unique?

Your purpose.

God created you with a Divine purpose. You were born on planet earth for a sacred purpose that only you can fulfill.

And because of that purpose, God had to shape you in a particular way. Here’s my big message for you: Your past wasn’t perfect, but it was perfect for your purpose.

Because your history prepared you for your destiny. The Bible says, Your hands shaped me and made me. (Job 10:8) Everything that happened in your past–good or bad–shaped you into a person ready to fulfill your God-ordained purpose.

Think about it…

Why were you born in your family? You could have been born in some other family two blocks away. Or in a family a thousand miles away. Why were you born in your country? You could have been born in the US or China or France or Kazakhstan or Angola or Zimbabwe? (If you were born in Sweden or Norway or Denmark, you would have had a 95% chance that your eyes would be blue. Wow.)

But God chose that you be born where you were born.

And why were you born in the 21th century? You could have been born in the 19th century with Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio. Or in the 16th century with Magellan and Lapu-Lapu. Or 1 million years B.C with some cavemen (Life was simple then. If you wanted to court a woman, all you had to do is hit her over the head.)

But God chose you to be born today.

Reason? God has a Divine purpose for your life in this time, in this place. Your purpose is connected with this generation, in this season of God’s reign on planet earth.

Let me share my own story…

My Past

Look at this photo below.

Guess who is that cute little guy in the middle?

I’m the youngest in the family. And I’m the only boy. I have five cruel sisters. Don’t be deceived by their angelic features in the photo. When I was a kid, they tormented me. I was their poor slave.

They ordered me around 24 hours a day…

Example?

They would ask me to answer the phone, even if the phone was only two inches away from them, and I was two miles away. But they will still call out to me, “Bo, answer the phone!”

“Huh? Why me?” I asked.

“Because you’re the youngest and you’re a boy!”

My sisters were all pretty so they had lots of suitors. And guess who was in charge of buying Coke for the guests?

“Why me?” I asked again.

“Because you have no suitors,” my wicked sisters told me.

Check my picture below–my face is pensive and wondering how to face another day with my sisters. (Or is it because I didn’t like wearing bellbottom pants… Hmm, I forgot.)

As a kid, we had no Ipad or Wii. My game was spiders. I’d put them inside a matchbox with six little compartments. I’d hold a barbecue stick and position two spiders on both ends of the stick. Being territorial, they’d attack each other and wrestle to death. That was my Ipad. With its sticky web, the winner wraps his foe like an Egyptian mummy. While he eats it, I imagine my sisters as the defeated spider, being eaten alive.

There were nights when I complained to God, “Lord, why did you give me five sisters? I could have handled one, perhaps tolerated two. Why five?”

But today, almost 40 years later, the pieces of the jigsaw have come together. (Sometimes, it takes 40 years to discover the Divine Logic of why things happened the way they did.) God knew that I was going to be prolific in creating ministries and businesses, and I needed my five sisters to help me.

All my 5 sisters now work with me. My eldest sister Chelle is my executive assistant and works for Shepherds Voice Radio and TV. My second sister Angie is managing KerygmaFamily in the US. My third sister Tina is running KerygmaFamily here in the Philippines and our homeschool program, Catholic Filipino Academy. My fourth sister Pinkie is helping me manage my Online Membership Clubs such as the TrulyRichClub. My fifth sister Beckie is handling our corporate and public seminars. Each of my sisters is such a massive blessing to me, I can’t do all I do without them. Today, I thank God I have 5 sisters, not 1 or 2!

By the way, I’m now their boss.  I now tell them what to do.

Here’s what you’ll realize today: What you thought was insignificant was actually indispensible, what you thought was negligible was actually necessary, what you thought was forgettable was actually fundamental, what you thought was petty was actually pivotal in preparing you for your Divine purpose. That behind every twist and turn of your incredible journey was a God who engineered, maneuvered, and operated to provide for you the raw materials you needed to be poised to do God’s purpose today.

Why did you go through what you went through in your life? Why in this city? Why at this time? Why did you go to that school? Why did you go with that set of friends? Why did you work in that company? Why did you marry that person?  Or why are you still single today?

That’s why God says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  (Jeremiah 29:11)

May your dreams come true,

Bo Sanchez
