How To Enjoy God’s Protection
Face it.
You and I live in a scary world.
We’re scared of calamities. Storms. Earthquakes. Volcanoes. El Nino. Tsunami. Philippine Presidentiables.
We’re scared of diseases. Swine flu. SARS. Dengue. Cancer. Cellulite. Wrinkles.
We’re scared of criminals. Kidnappers. Hold-uppers. Akyat bahay gang. Dugo-dugo gang. Corrupt Politicians.
We’re scared of the economy. The fear of losing your job. The fear of your company closing down. The fear of having no money. And some people have the fear of having too much money. (Please email me right away. I can solve that problem for you.)
We’re afraid of the terrorists of the world. There’s North Korea. Abu Sayyaf. Al-Qaeda. Osama bin Laden. Your mother-in-law.
I repeat: We live in a scary world.
Let me share with you how to enjoy God’s protection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Ramon Revilla, The Incredibles, And Wolverine
Imagine if you were Ramon Revilla in his movies.
All you had to do is wear this special amulet and you’ll be impervious to the nuclear bomb. Ramon Revilla could face 400 Japanese soldiers shooting at him and he’ll just stand there, smiling. He’ll then fire his gun once at them and the 400 soldiers will fall to the ground.
For those who don’t know who Ramon Revilla is, let me modernize my example for you.
Imagine if you were Violet, the teenage girl in The Incredibles.
Imagine you too had the power to create a spherical force field.
A missile was launched at your direction? Turn on your force field.
A monster attacking you? Turn on your force field.
A seatmate beside you in the bus has body odor? Turn on your force field.
Imagine if you were Wolverine.
Your body can heal all wounds and broken bones in mere seconds. A train can run over you and you’ll fully recover—as though nothing happened to you—in 7 seconds flat. Then we would have no more fear.
God Wants To Protect You
I have great news for you.
These fantasies express the longings of the human heart. And I believe God gives us an even greater protection than the amulet of Ramon Revilla, the force field of Violet, and the healing powers of Wolverine.
How? God invites you to live in the circle of His love. And I believe that’s the safest place in this universe.
Why does God want to protect you?
Simply because He’s a parent.
And every parent wants to protect her child.
I have never heard a mother tell her three-year old child, “Happy Birthday, Suzy! For your 3rd birthday, I’m giving you 49 Ginzu kitchen knives.”
I have never heard a father tell his one-year old boy, “Junior, since you can now walk, I want you to cross South Super Hi-way all by yourself.”
I have never heard parents tell their 16-year old daughter, “Pamela, we want you to study abroad. You’ll study for 4 years in Afghanistan.”
Let me share with you stories from my home.
The Best Protection Is Teaching You To Protect Yourself
When my son Bene was a baby, he liked to swallow small stuff like coins. So whenever we needed money, all we had to do was turn him upside down and shake him hard until some coins fall out. Whatever fell was enough for our monthly grocery.
In order to protect him, we removed tiny objects around the house.
As a toddler, he would also bump into the sharp corners of the tables around the house. Do you know how crazy we were? I sawed off the sharp corners.
I’m not kidding. I simply chopped them off. Even if we had imported furniture. (Imported from Shoemart.)
But as our kids grew up, we realized that we won’t be able to protect them all the time. I couldn’t carry a saw in every restaurant my kids go to and start sawing off the sharp corners of their tables.
Can you imagine the shock of the waiter?
“Sir, what in the world are you doing?!”
“Shhh,” I tell him as I chop off their tables, “I’m protecting my child.”
At the end of the day, the best way to protect your child is to teach them how to protect themselves.
When a mother says to her child, “Before you cross the street, look to the right and look to the left…” she is protecting her child by giving her a simple rule.
What if the child says, “You’re so old fashioned. No, that crimps my style. I don’t want to look to the right and look to the left. When I cross the street, I want to look up and down.”
Do you think that child will reach his 18th birthday? Not likely.
In the same way, God protects you by calling you to live within the circle of His love. He knows that when you live according to His laws of love, you protect yourself from a whole gamut of danger.
Like the danger that Stephen Reynolds exposed himself to 20+ years ago…
Haunted By Past Mistakes
Three years ago, Stephen Reynolds was enjoying his life. He was 45-years old with a happy marriage and a wonderful 3-year old son.
But one morning, he had a hard time swallowing his food. And it went on for weeks, like a sore throat that never wanted to go away.
Soon, the pain got worse and he was taking painkillers just to be able to eat.
He finally went to a throat specialist. The doctor found a tumor at the base of his tongue and ordered a biopsy. The result?
Stephen had cancer of the throat, Stage 4.
He couldn’t believe it. He was only 45 years old. And he never smoked in his life. Wasn’t cancer of the throat supposed to be a result of chain-smoking and drinking heavily for 30 years straight?
Doctors told him a terrifying fact that very few people know. He learned that 25% of cancers of the throat are caused by sexually transmitted HPV or human papillomavirus. It’s the same virus that causes cervical cancers. So what was it doing in his throat? In his youth, he was sexually active and practiced oral sex with his girlfriends.
Doctors told him that twenty million Americans are now infected with HPV, many of them teenagers, and every year, 6 million more are added to this number.
Obviously, condoms cannot prevent the passing of this virus.
For Stephen, having cancer was terrible. But knowing that he may have passed on the virus to many other women was also terrible.
You can read his full story in Readers Digest (August 2008).
Why do I share you this story?
Avoiding 90% Of the Evil In This World
If you lived in God’s circle of love, being faithful to one person, living in sexual purity, you protect yourself from a whole army of sexually transmitted diseases. They don’t bother you.
Or how about smoking? If you love your body, you won’t smoke. If you don’t smoke, you protect your body from an avalanche of health problems, from yellow teeth, dark lips, weak lungs, bad breath, and cancer.
Or how about Materialism? If you love yourself instead of trying to gain love by buying stuff you can’t afford it, you’ll protect yourself from debts, stress, ulcers, and a meaningless life.
If you love God, love others, and love yourself, you protect yourself from 90% of the evil in the world. Isn’t that cool?
When God gives us His laws of love, He isn’t giving them because He doesn’t want you to have fun. The exact opposite is true. God is giving you these simple rules so that you’ll have the greatest fun in the world.
But what about the remaining 10% of evil in this world that you can’t control?
Does God protect you from them as well?
God’s Protection Isn’t A Bubble
God protects us, but He doesn’t overprotect us.
Good parents are wise enough not to protect their kids from every pain, hurt, struggle, or problem—or their kids won’t grow up.
And God wants us to grow up too.
John Travolta appeared in a movie a long time ago called Boy In The Bubble. This child’s body couldn’t fight any kind of germ. Once exposed to the slightest germs, he will die. So he lived inside a bubble all his life.
Some of us wish that God’s circle of love be like that bubble. We want God to protect us from all hurt, pain, danger, disease, and calamities.
We want God’s protection to be like Ramon Revilla’s amulet.
Or Violet’s force field.
Or Wolverine’s healing superpowers.
But God won’t do that. Instead, He’ll do something better.
One day, my friend, a mother of two small kids, asked me, “Bo, my kids get sick so often. You know me. I’m super clean. I clean our house with lysol, alcohol, holy water, you name it, I use it. When it’s raining, I make my kids wear raincoats; When it’s cold, I make them wear jackets. I give my kids vitamin A, B, C, W, X, Y, and Z. They carry an alcogel bottle so they can clean their hands every five minutes. But they still get sick so often! And then I compare them to the kids of our labandera (laundry woman). They live in the slum area beside our village. Her kids run in the street under the rain, naked and barefoot. They sit on the mud, right beside a stinking open canal, playing with dirty tin cans and plastic bottles. And they don’t get sick!”
Hey, I’m not a doctor. I don’t know why her kids get sick often.
But I have a suspicion that if you protect your kids from all possible germs, they won’t become physically strong.
In the same way, if God will protect us from all hurts and problems, we won’t become spiritually strong as well.
Why God Doesn’t Protect Us From All Pain
I’d like to share with you a powerful love story from a friend of mine.
I’ve changed the names to protect his privacy.
Let’s call my friend Jack.
As a young man, Jack fell in love with his classmate, a beautiful and charming young woman. Let’s call her Rose.
Rose was Jack’s first love.
And Jack was very happy because Rose seemed to like him very much. They always had fun together. They’d spend time in school, ride the jeep, and watch the movies. Jack also visited her in her home and met her parents.
At once, Jack knew that her family was rich and his family was poor. But her parents were cordial to him, so he hoped that this was fine with them.
But a few months later, a new suitor appeared. A man from a rich family. Let’s call this guy Titanic. And immediately, it was very obvious to Jack that the parents of Rose liked this other suitor much more. They would talk to Titanic more. They would entertain him more.
Jack’s heart was crushed.
His hope to marry Rose was dashed to the ground.
Slowly, he drifted away from her. He stopped seeing the love of his life.
Six months later, Jack’s worst fears came true: He received a wedding invitation from Rose. She was going to marry Titanic.
Jack attended her wedding. He was late for the ceremony. When Rose saw him, she said, “You’re always late, Jack.”
“Why always?” he thought. It was the first time he was late. Instantly, he knew she was not referring to clock time, but to something else: He was late for her.
Jack watched Rose from the distance, beside Titanic her husband, and he felt a very deep pain in his heart.
Jack told me, “That day Bo, I realized that if you don’t have money, you’re treated as nothing.” The experience was so painful, he vowed to himself that he will become a wealthy man.
This happened 34 years ago.
Today, Jack is a billionaire.
He’s also happily married, has a beautiful family with wonderful kids.
Jack told me, “Bo, Rose doesn’t know it, but I am who I am because of her.”
Friend, God won’t prevent Titanics from happening in your life. Some of these Titanics will take away your Rose. And it will be exceedingly painful.
The Safest Place In The Universe
I can hear your questions loud and clear.
· “Why didn’t God protect my wife when she died of cancer last year?”
· “Why didn’t God protect my house from robbers last month?”
· “Why didn’t God protect my family in the earthquake of 1991?”
I too have my own question.
· “Why didn’t God protect me when I was molested as a child?”
After 30 years of prayer, deep study, extensive reflection, and discussions with my spiritual mentors, I’ve come to a very profound answer: I don’t know.
I really don’t!
But God knows.
And that’s enough for me.
God won’t protect you from all pain.
But He will allow the pain that can turn into a great blessing.
The Bible says, All things work for good to those who love God.
Friend, believe that He will turn your sorrow into joy.
He will turn your mourning into dancing.
Live within the circle of His love.
How? Love God, love others, and love yourself.
Because the safest place in this universe is the circle of God’s love.
May your dreams come true,
Bo Sanchez

Thank for the inspiring story. Thank you for reminding that titanics do happen & for a good reason which only God knows.
This is a very timely article. I was robbed last night and they took my wallet, my new mobile, my IDs… I just realized that these are just material things. At first I asked why I was a victim of such misfortune but now I take it back, some people have been in worse situation than this. I will continue to pray for God’s protection and he always has a better plan. My mom, my bf, my friends are more important than material things. I should be thankful that I didn’t get hurt and can still spend time with them.
thanks for a very timely and inspiring story… i have experience different pains in my life and i always ask GOD to guide me so i can surpass them…. as you said in every pain there is joy that is waiting….. i believe that GOD will not give us any problem or trials which we cannot bear.. I was so inspired of this article. I am currently in stage feeling down financially but prayers make me strong to go on in life and raised the problem to God. I can sleep well at night althought I don’t know if my money can survive my family until the next pay period. I keep on praying anytime in a day to make me feel better. I know that God put me in this situation because He loves me so much that I need to give more time to him. I always treat my problem as a challenge and calling from him.
This is really2x nice Bro. Bo. Once again, I am reminded & enlightened that pains are there to help us grow stronger and deeper in our faith…as long as we continue to trust in God’s ways…all things will work together for good.

Dear Bo,
Thank you for this powerful article. It reminded me once again about the pain that I went thru in the past.
When I got to your phrase “Live within the circle of His love,” I realized that even without being conscious then of living within that circle, God already had me within that circle- regardless of my sins and their weight!
Simply because, as you say, God is a parent. And because His nature is to love. He is LOVE HIMSELF.
And yes, He can allow our pains to turn into a great blessing. Especially for those who love and honor Him. I pray that all who have read this article will be blessed like me.
More power to you Bo. and keep writing from your God-given reflections!
I really like this article Bro. Bo, there are many things happened in our lives that we really don’t know why it happens. I agree that all we have to do is just trust GOD. My love story is just like of Jack but now I understand why I am not lucky to have a girlfriend in the past because GOD is preparing me a better girl. I am so happy with this girl eventhough we have a 10 year age gap. All I know is trust GOD. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
Hi Bro. Bo,
Just very timely is your article because I’m now in deep financial crisis (being harass by my debtors). I’ve been struggling since I was a child, and grew up as a hardworking person but until now, I still don’t understand why abundance and prosperity seem so “hard to get”. I’m a generous person, but if it’s my turn to ask for help, I felt so alone in the world. Please pray for me that I will be able to overcome these trials. I’m still grateful that my concerns has something to do only with financial struggle, I lift to GOD everything while I don’t stop working on the possible solutions. Thank you for your inspiring article. It lessen my burdens….
Thanks for the inspiring story! It’s true that God permits pain in our lives but He always put His hands underneath…God bless Bo!
thank you bro. bo for this article. you are really an inspiration to us. God bless you…..
Good day Bo,
thanks for the very inspiring article…. I my self experience so much pain. on my childhood i’ve experience being molested by my own father, being a child i dont have any voice to talked about i just kept quiet for the longest time after that even my father didnt say sorry about it i learn to forgive him on what he did to me.. Just recently experience the most painful thing happen in my llfe …for almost 4 years of relationship with my boyfirend to whom has a family back in the philippines we’ve got separated not because we fight for something but the wife knew about the relationship. The hardest part of it is that we both love each other so much that for the past 4 yrs of our relationship we dont have a really big argument,he was too nice to me and almost perfect …Bo is it true that there is no wrong on loving someone only the circumstances is not right….He doesnt want to end the relationship wid me coz he told me that he would rather spend the rest of his life wid me than to his wife… Bo as I read your previous article i was enlighted but the hard thing is that i could’nt apply it to my self…. Im not a family wrecker… I just only fall in love with the wrong man…… I know God will always have plans for me, for me to do the right thing and live on Gods plans.. as the song say There’s a rainbow always after the rain….
thanks so much
God bless

Indeed, God works in mysterious ways.
There are a lot of “blessings in disguise.”
Romans 8:28 says: “We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose.”
Jeremiah 29:11 also attests to that.
Thanks, Bo, for being a channel of God’s Word / blessings.
dear bro. bo,
i am a member of kerygma but failed to log in due to incorrect password. nonetheless,i am always reading and watching your feast every sun.your articles always reminded me that jesus is always in our midst no matter what.
Wow! This article put a bullet in my heart. There was pain because of guilt, guilt of not making things right. But at the same time there was hope, hope that someday, after building my own person, God will truly guide my way to freedom and joy.
God bless you and your family Bo. I pray that God will continue to give you discernment on the writings you make, articles that people can relate with and will truly enlighten your readers. Keep them coming.

Very Inspiring. Thank you Brother Bo for being God’s instrument of love.

I know that in life many bad things happen for a reason. …
I know too that God allows these things to happen for a reason….
I know that you wrote this article for a reason…
Thank you for whatever reasons there might be…
It will always become a blessing!
God Bless always!
Bro Bo,
Thank you!
God Bless……!
Thank you for this wonderfully inspiring article. God love us!
Yes, Bo, GOD will answer our questions in HIS TIME, NOW-because we need it, NO-We don’t need it, LATER-because jejeje I don’t knew. Once more, maraming salamat, walang katapusan salamat sa tuloy-tuloy mong pagmamahal sa GOD, at pati kami ay nadadamay sa pagmamahal na yan.
hi bro Bo.,
wow… another wonderful and inspiring article..
Thank you for sharing this to us!
God Bless us!
bo,
i always read your article during lunch break. and i just can’t help myself to laugh, i just covered may mouth so i could not make any noise, ‘coz everyone in the office is taking a nap. this article is very entertaining and very inspiring!
i am a new mother and sometimes i felt i am very protective to may little baby. motherhood gives me a new perspective in my life, to be always protective with the ones i love, with my baby. yes, God is very much like what you said a protective mother or parent. and i believe He is always there for us protecting us and and always teaching us to protect ourselves if only we recognize Him and appreciate for the the things he has done for us!
For god be the glory!
Dear Bro. Bo,
Thank you very much for your timely message. It somehow lightens the heaviness in my heart. Ive been to a lot of problems in the past, but was able to survive them because my wife and I jointly handled and solved them. I found out that it’s very difficult to solve any problem if there is a problem is between husbands and wives. We’ve been married for 15 years and serving in a catholic community. Everything is going fine until a problem pop up 3 years ago which slowly devastated our relationship. Since then we can not solve even the smallest problem because we don’t communicate anymore. Whenever we try to talk, it always resulted in a shouting match. Thus we hurt each other more. Right now is the lowest point in my life because of ballooning problems I am facing and I am even planning my own death at the end of this year just to solve my problems since my insurance will cover up for our debts and with me gone forever my children will no longer hear and see us fight every day.
Hopefully I can soon understand God’s plan for me in allowing this problem to happen in my life. Please include me in your prayers..
Tawa ako ng tawa dun sa ’saw’ portion. Iba talaga tama nun sa akin, kakatawa pero sa totoo lang lakas talaga impact ng message.
Thank you Bo for the very insping article. You’re an angel.
I will forever remember the following quote from Bo. I will share it to people because it relieved a lot of stresses in my life. Sometimes acceptance is the only key so we can move forward.
“After 30 years of prayer, deep study, extensive reflection, and discussions with my spiritual mentors, I’ve come to a very profound answer: I don’t know.” - Bo Sanchez
efxaristo para poli Bro Bo.
Thanks Bro. Bo! I love this article. It’s true God allowed titanics to happen in our lives for a purpose i.e. for our purification, for us to grow in virtue and character for we are all under construction. Thanks again for your inspiring articles. God bless!!!
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Learning is part of our journey to our final destination - Heaven. We are strengthen by the life lessons that we go through.. But have we ever wondered how did we get through these trials and failures? Despite of all the things that we have done, Our Father will always be there to protect us encourage us and give us guidance.. Like any parent, not known by the children, would secretly help
them just to encourage them, to get them going because we know that they will become stronger persons as they triumphantly get through these trials. Our Father in heaven is also like that. In our life’s journey He will use everything encourage us, teach us, guide us so we could triumphantly reach or final destination with Him in Heaven and along the way have shared these blessings to our brothers and sisters.
hi bo,
i was talking to my husband through skype while reading your stories, there’s this part that remind me when my girls were still toddlers, my husband being over protective (in all aspects) by the way, they are teenagers now, my eldest is 20 and bunso is 18, when you mentioned about the corners of your tables, that made me laugh, because that’s not exactly but almost the same thing that my husband did in all the corners of the house, he put foam in all corners, over protective pa rin siya. i always remind him, that we don’t own them, soon,(i hope not too soon) somebody will claim them, thank you bo for your inspiring stories, it’s something to take home and live with it! God bless!
Bro BO,
You’re 100% right..god wants us to take some pains in our life so that we become more close to Him..Let us always thanks God for all the things that’s happening in our life..whether good or sometimes if he put us to a test..Let’s always call on Him..He never leaves us..GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS…Thank you so much….

How refreshing to relive these truths! Thank you very much, Bro. Bo, for the profoundness of your wisdom and your unstinting ministry. Indeed, we should constantly embrace the truth that God loves us like no other. Circumstances or events in our lives may blur our sight of this love but the truth remains - He is a God of love and its love we need come what may…………..
Today is the 5th year death anniversary of my child Shekinah.God does allow things to happen.I may not understand it but He is Good All theTime!Did her death made me strong?Maybe, but I truly learned the word surrender.I have learned to give my comlete trust and confidence in Him.He is my hiding place.Be still my anxious heart,He is GOD.

thank you Bro. Bo, ive been reading kerygma magazines for a while now and I also finished reading your book entitled “how to live a life of miracles”. very inspirational and good source of motivation to hold on to God and to blessed others as well..every day is really a miracle..
God bless you and your family..
Bro, i do not want to recall my relationship w/ my first boyfriend but the story of your friend Jack reminds me of my past love story. Although there is no Titanic in our life, there came to be tsunami to destroy every love story we have built. Your are right to say, that God allows the pain and turn into a blessing.
I am blessed with a loving and faithful husband and 4 loving and handsome boys (17, 12, 4 & 3 yrs. old), blessed with abundance in life — friendship, kawang gawa (volunteer jobs) service for the Lord. Can’t complain but listen and obey His will. I know i can’t do this alone, i need the guidance and protection of Gods’ grace of love through the Holy Spirit.
Thanks for the good spirit that is in you and for accepting the call of spreading His word.
dear brother bo:

Hello Bro. Bo,
Thanks for that very wonderful story of yours. I always get to know God more deeply and I really love it when it happens. I’ve really searched your site, because I know I will learn something from it. I am looking forward too of subscribing KERYGMA but it’s so complicated as of this time. I’m so thankful because whenever I’m online I can somehow give food for my soul. God bless you Bro. Bo.
thank you very much Bro. Bo. May the good Lord bless and keep you.
Dear Bro Bo,
Ha ha ha ha ha! Laughter is still the best medicine! Your wit and humor took away my blues and pains. Ha ha ha ha! It’s so well written and thought of as always my dear brother in the Lord Jesus! What an anointing! God bless you more abundantly with creative and powerful ways to teach and preach and change people’s lives to victory! I’m very blessed as the millions who read your blogs are.

Bro.Bo, I’m so greatful to God because He gave us such a wonderful person in you. Lalo kaming nagiging matatag dahil sa mga ibinabahagi mong kwento na malaki ang tulong para sa lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay namin. Masaya man o malungkot. Maraming-maraming salamat talaga sa iyo Bro.Bo.
May the Good Lord continue to bless you and your dear ones always. Stay healthy for us. (:
Very inspiring stories and messages bro Bo…
Bro. Bo I believe that God led me to read your story.Earlier I found out that the new apartment where me and my friend will be staying is not really safe.We were thinking of canceling our reservation. The thing is, it’s near our workplace and rent fee is at a price within our budget.
I was praying to God for an apartment and I believe He led us to this place. After reading your story I believe that God is telling us to be extra careful and to have faith in His plans.
Thank you for sharing this to us.
Thanks Bo.
God has revealed his kind of protection with your stories. I liked the Titanic best, because I related to the pain the most. I’m still at that deep emotional pain, and I haven’t realized anything yet, unlike Jack, who had an epiphany that it was due to poverty. I concentrated on the hurt, I forgot to study the lessons.
Thank you. Really, “all things work for good to those who love him” — thank you for reminding me about God’s promise.
You’ve made me happily teary-eyed again.
Hi,
Thank you for these wonderful messages sent by God through you. I”m a parent myself so I know how it feels to be very protective. I used to control and protect every move of my children. Now, I just pray always and offer them to God because our children are His. God teaches us lessons in everything that we’re doing.
Thanks and God bless us all!
agree bo when you’ve said God ALLOWS trials to make us SPIRITUALLY strong or matutong tumawag at dumepende sa Kanya esp.mga HOPELESS cases like stage 3/4 cancers, etc.
Gud am Bro. Bo,
I am a widow for 5yrs ang I have 3 children. Marami rin akong struggles but I know God is always with me kaya nakakayanan ko ang lahat. I always listen to your radio program every morning habang nag-pe-prepare ako ng food ng mga anak ko. I pray na sana marami ang makapakinig pa sa iyo at magkaroon din ng chance makapag share. MORE POWER, MORE BLESSINGS AND PRAISE GOD!
thank u so much bro. bo
wow! wow! wow! article…..
GODBLESS U ALWAYS………..
Dear Bro. Bo,
Thank you for such an inspiring message. God bless you always.
God Bless You, Us …this is so wonderful
Natawa naman ako dun sa part na “Pamela, we want you to study abroad. You’ll study for 4 years in Afghanistan.” because I am actually here in Afghanistan. And you know why I am here? Because God wants me to be here as I know I am always protected by God. You’re praying over me Bro. Bo before I went here s a big help also but I know I have a great God and I am enjoying His protection even if I’m in a country at war.
Because of that I am renewing my contract and be here for another year, with or without the Talibans.
God Bless us all. =)
So wonderful for the believers!!! But for the unbelievers??? the shared stories would encourage them to believe that God protects by doing nothing for them. Why?
1. The best protection is to protect yourself has nothing to do with God. It’s about to obey the ‘natural law, the law of harvest: “IF u want to reap what you sow, sow what u want to reap.”
2. The story about Jack also ‘has nothing to do with what is call God.” It’s about the followings: a)whatever is at the center of our life will be the source of our security, guidance, wisdom and power. Jack wasn’t Rose-centered; b) I am what iam today because of the choices i made yesterday.
3. “The religious myth is the most powerful device ever created, and serves as the psychological soil upon which other myths can flourish.”
Shortly, the way we see the ‘problem’ is the ‘problem’
Thanks Bro!
the article about Jack, happens to me. My own famiy does not like me. I was born to be very ugly, was a below average student, have a low level job. Never been out of the country. Married a poor man. I am now a widow with 3 kids, living in my parents’ house, but I always feel I am not welcome. They only took us upon the convicing of a cousin who is holding a high government position. Everyday, I would hear my sister, my father, my nephew, that me and my 3 kids are a burden. And we will never move up. as we are”bobo”, ugly, behave like squatters. And we are forever parasites. Everyday, I pray to God to grant me a miracle to let me win the lotto, so I can have more money, buy a house for my children, visit Hongkong, by then, I know my own family will ike me. Perhaps, my relatives can now invite us to the family reunion.
Since, I was a child, I always exerted efforts to be notice by my family as a worth loving person. But, seems, all my efforts woud always go to waste. My family already that me and my children would forever be failures
Bo, you should run for president. I sure will vote for you. Hehehe.. but really, I’ve been conscientiously thinking about who i should vote and I thought… Bo should run for president. I’m never going to have second thoughts..
but… when you become president, we will never be able to enjoy reading your article/blog/books like we used to. pero Bo, kung magbago isip mo, iboboto pa rin kita.. yipeee!!!
All that happens in this world EXCEPT SIN , is God’s will. God has given us the free will to choose between right and wrong. There are only two forces in our world, the good and the evil. True, the trauma is real, if one falls into the victim category. That’s why our God choose to come down from heaven , to men’s sinfulness in order cleanse men from the mud of sin, and to shine as a pearl again / by washing us pure with His Blood on the Cross. He has shown us how to handle evil by suffering, sacrifice and forgiveness in order for us to enjoy the triumph of the Resurrection / of Everlasting Life. ” I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life “… says our Lord. ” Take up your cross and follow Me. ” Let us make our sufferings an instrument to rise up again with our Faith and Trust in our God into Life Everlating!
Thanks Bro. Bo for this insight and for this blog wherein people share one another’s belief , all for one goal , to love God and neighbor, to forgive endlessly in order to set ourselves free to be happy in this world and in the next .
God bless us all.
Have a good day all everyone !

Hello Bro Bo,
Your message on G-d’s protection is indeed very inspiring!
You know, last month our Medical Clinic in Manila refused to give me a work clearance.
It meant that I could no longer go back to Kazakhstan to continue my job because of hypertension and heart enlargement.
Perhaps one may see it as something negative….
There is something good in it! First is this- Our Company accepted me back and so I knew that G-d is obviously behind the surprising and unusual decision. It was an opportunity for me once again to have experienced His loving care.
Second, I have to control my temper (by hook or by crook) for me to maintain a normal blood pressure which is a necessity for my survival.
Third, I have to do some regular physical exercises.
Now I am happy because I have admitted to myself that He really and sincerely loves me for giving me a chance to work and earn again. A new life “kungbaga”.I take everything easy now, relaxed, cool, gentle, prayerful and lifting all problems to Him. To maintain this condition I have to focus my mind on Him always and doing good as much as possible. Physically, I can walk 5 kilometers a day and jog one half kilometer without any problem. I am compelled to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and reduced my weight to normal, taking away a big stomach. In a few weeks I believe I can become one with an athletic body and a gentle mind and a stronger spirit.
For all these I say, that He really protects, loves, and cares…talagang talaga…..
wow
thanks mr. Bo!
you truly are a God’s gift to us…
God is really so good!
thank you
thank you
thank you
Bro. bo,
That was an inspiring story..it always ligthen up my blurry day. Thanks God for using you as an instrument in spreading his love to us..
more power!
I used to be a subscriber of your magazine Kerygma when i was still in the seminary (15 yrs ago) and i found the magazine very relevant and a moral boosting whichever walk in life you are into. I lost contact with it for a long time and only now that i encountered you again through one of the mails of in our yahoo group (olmcs yahoo groups, ex-seminarians from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Seminary, Sariaya, Quezon) . I have been basically spiritually drain since the time i left the seminary. I maybe was mesmerized with the so called beauty of the world that it covers all my longingness for God who had embraced me and loved me for a long time. I had not been to the church (even on Sundays), did not pray a single mystery of the rosary and not even had my night prayers since then.
When i see your name on the email, i believe God made his way to my heart again. He tapped me with your mail with the words, “How are you, son? it’s been a while.” I feel like crying while i am typing this letter. I am feeling right now an extra ordinary thing in me. Regret is one for letting the time passed by without him to share each moment (be bad or good) and
happy for i know i am back in his arms again. I am presently here in Dubai with my wife while my 2 sons are in the Philippines. We are actually in the middle of a problem right now and maybe that’s the rreason for the “tap”.
So, today, i cat all my worries to Him who had not abandoned me. To Him who answers all questions in His time.
Thank you Bro for lifting my spirit up!!
I already signed up for your soulfood email. Keep it up and i hope to hear a lot of those words for the soul the soonest.
Regards to your family and to all our Kababayans around the world suffering from different trials and tribulations of life. Rest assured, “He will be our Knight in Shining Armour. We just need to believe in His Love!”
Thank you
