Earn As Much As You Can, Love As Much As You Can
Yes, make 100%!
Don’t settle for 50% or 60% or 80% or even 90%–if God has given you the ability to make 100%.
Why try to earn more?
There are two very good reasons why you should earn more.
1. You Want To Give More
Once upon a time, I used to earn P800 a month.
I was a missionary and I was very happy. I loved God. Yes, there were days when I got hungry, but that hunger was very good for me. God taught me many things through my hunger.
Today, I’m still a missionary. But I’m also an entrepreneur. I run 12 small businesses. Yes, I earn more now. And guess what: I’m still very happy. I still love God very much.
The only difference is that I’m able to give more. And this gives me so much joy! I can now personally finance my ministry projects—like giving scholarships to poor kids or supporting missionaries or building the Feast.
But there’s a second reason for earning more, and I’m excited to share this with you.
2. You Want To Grow More
Very few people understand this point.
When you earn money, it’s not the money that’s important. It’s who you become through the process of earning money that’s important.
Let me give you an example.
I know of two waiters.
Let’s call them John and Lloyd. (Both are good looking too.)
Both of them receive tips.
In one week, John gets P1000.
But Lloyd gets P3000.
What’s the difference? Both serve food. So why is Lloyd tipped three times more than John?
Here’s the answer: John serves food only. Lloyd serves food and happiness and friendship and fun and kindness and hope and affection… In other words, Lloyd serves food andfeelings.
How does he do that?
When you enter the restaurant, Lloyd literally runs to you with excitement. He greets you like the King of Saudi Arabia or the Queen of England entered the room.
And while you’re eating, it’s as though he has ESP. He can read your mind. It’s actually scary. Sometimes, Lloyd knows what you want even before you know you need it. Water. Napkin. Salt. Ketchup. Toothpick. Newspaper. Diatabs. You’re just thinking of it, and it appears right in front of you.
Lloyd has a personal mission: To make you happy.
Today, Lloyd is paid three times more “symbols of value” (money) because he has increased that value within himself—and is able to give that value to you.
One day, I met a wealthy friend who lost millions because of Typhoon Ondoy. His house and cars were destroyed. He said something that blew me away. I asked him, “How are you?” He said, “I only lost material things. Give me 1 year and I’ll earn it all back.”
Your wealth isn’t your money.
Your wealth is who you are.
I love saying this: Money is merely a symbol of value.
If you want to increase your money, you’ve got to increase your value. The more value you have, the more “symbols of value” (money) will flow into your life.
How do you increase your value?
You do it in three specific areas.
3 Core Ingredients Of Becoming Truly Rich
After teaching financial literacy for 7 years now, I’ve realized that there are three core ingredients to become truly rich.
Increase your value in these three areas and you increase your wealth.
Here they are:
1. Competence
2. Consciousness
3. Character
1.Competence
Many people want easy money.
Like many people dream of winning the Lotto. Or a huge inheritance from a rich uncle you hardly know. Or a nice job or business because of a favor from friends in high places.
But money like this is more of a curse than a blessing.
Did you know? A whopping 40% of Lotto Winners, 5 years after winning their millions, lose it all. Why? Because money, the symbol of value, has nothing to symbolize. There’s no value behind the symbol.
And how many rich kids lose the wealth of their rich parents? Reason: Because these rich parents passed on their wealth but not the competence to earn that wealth.
Many people dream of creating their wealth through political connections. But when their political backers lose their power, after awhile, they lose their wealth too.
If you want to earn real wealth, there’s really only one way. It’s the old fashioned way: Develop real competence. Real competence that’s so remarkable, the world will stand in awe.
Be the best you!
Be the best waiter. The best salesman. The best dentist. The best cook. The best manager. The best writer. The best dancer. The best chemist. The best teacher.
Your boss may not recognize your best. That’s okay. Give your best anyway. If your boss won’t recognize you, someone else will. Another company will recognize you and promote you.
But how many of you know of people who are incredibly competent in what they do, but they remain poor?
Because competence isn’t enough.
2.Consciousness
There are many brilliant people who are poor. Gifted people who are poor. Talented people who are poor.
Why?
Because to become wealthy, you just don’t need competence. You need a consciousness of wealth.
In other words, a truly rich mindset.
Many people are afflicted by a scarcity mindset. To become truly rich, you need to take on an abundance mindset. To enlarge your psychological wallet. To increase your money comfort zone.
If you think that to be rich is evil…
Or if you think you don’t deserve to be rich…
Or if you think to be rich doesn’t fit you… (“Hindi bagay sa akin ang yumaman…”)
Then you’ll never become rich.
To become truly rich, you need to think in a truly rich way.
Another point: A very important part of Consciousness is Financial Literacy—or understanding how money works.
That’s why there are doctors who can operate on the body but cannot operate their money. That’s why there are actors who can manage their careers but cannot manage their cash. They fall into scams and make terrible investment choices.
But here’s the truth. Even if Competence and Consciousness will make you wealthy, if you don’t have the third ingredient, wealth won’t last.
3.Character
Character is the most important value of all.
I’m talking about integrity, honesty, faithfulness, love…
Let me repeat what I always say: Money is a magnifying glass. Money doesn’t bring anything to the table. It simply magnifies what’s already there.
If you’re a good person, money will give you more opportunities to be good. But if you’re a bad person, money will give you more opportunities to be bad.
That’s why the Bible says, If, then, you have not been faithful in handling worldly wealth, how can you be trusted with true wealth? (Luke 16:11)
How you handle your money reveals who you really are.
How To Have A Mega Catch
One day, Jesus told the apostles, “Push the boat out further to the deep water, and you and your partners let down your nets for a catch.”
Peter said, “we worked hard all night long and caught nothing. But if you say so, I will let down the nets.”
They let them down and caught such a large number of fish that the nets were about to break. So they motioned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. They came and filled both boats so full of fish that the boats were about to sink. (Luke 5:4-7)
Wow.
I have a question for you: Do you want this kind of abundance?
Do you want to have your boat filled with so much fish, your nets are about to break, your boats are about to sink? (But for some miraculous reason, doesn’t?)
Jesus gave them this miracle and He can give it to you too.
How? Do these three things and you’ll receive the same miracle too:
1. Determination
2. Differentiation
3. Delegation
1. Determination
When the apostles couldn’t catch fish, Jesus didn’t say, “Okay, give up fishing. Try catching birds” or “Try catching rabbits”.
He basically said, “Don’t give up on your core gift.”
The Bible says, “Do not neglect your gift.” (1 Timothy 4:14). It also says, “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings…” (Proverbs 22:29)
In the past few years, young people took up nursing because so many people said, “That’s where the money is…” Today, those nursing graduates are call center agents—because many countries aren’t accepting our nurses anymore.
It’s crazy. Don’t just pick up a career because the money is there. You have to ask yourself the question, “What is my core gift? Where am I good at?”
But when you practice your core gift, you have to do it in a very special way…
2. Differentiation
Jesus said, “Push your boat further into the deep water.”
In other words, Jesus was saying, “I know you’ve been fishing all night and caught nothing. But don’t give up. Let’s do it again. But let’s do it a little bit differently…”
If you want to earn more, you have to do it differently than what you’ve done before.
Remember this principle: What brought you to where you are now won’t bring you to where you want to go.
A wise man said, “Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.”
You’ve got to keep growing. One of the mortal sins of employees and entrepreneurs is not innovating. You’ve got to keep innovating, going to where the market is going—not being stuck.
In a previous book, I wrote about a masseuse named Ate Guy. I call her Ate Guy because when she massages, she has the strength of a guy. She’s phenomenal. She basically tortures her customers, inflicts untold pain, and then has the audacity to charge double for her services.
Only insane people get her services.
My wife is one of them. So Ate Guy visits the house and massages my wife regularly. And every time, she charges P750.
Ate Guy’s schedule is fully booked. If you want her services, you’ll have to wait for 2014.
I don’t like to be tortured, so I ask another masseuse to visit the house. Let’s call her Ate Vi. (Similarities to actual persons are totally coincidental.)
Ate Vi charges P250 only. She’s affordable enough that my three house helpers also get a massage from her. (Yes, they’re rich. Read my book My Maid Invests In The Stock Market to know why.)
Ate Vi, like 99% of the masseuses, earn P10,000 a month.
Ate Guy earns P60,000 a month.
Why? Differentiation.
Ate Guy isn’t like any other masseuse. She’s one in a million. She’s the only one who offers to massage you and almost murder you at the same time.
But some people—like my wife—like that. And they’re willing to pay good money for pain. Ate Guy has discovered her niche. She ignores everyone else. And that’s what you need to do too.
Find your song and find your audience (who likes that song). God has given a song to sing—and an audience who likes that song. Focus on that song and that audience. Like Ate Guy, be a superstar!
If you’re income is “normal”, that means your work is “normal” too. If you want your income to be phenomenal, you’ve got to make your work phenomenal too.
Ask yourself: What can I do to differentiate myself, to stand out, to be remarkable? How can I be so excellent, so amazing, so magnificent, my customers will be my raving fans? Or my boss will remember me forever?
But if you want to earn even bigger money, you need to learn the last lesson…
3. Delegation
When their nets were about to break and their boat was about to sink, they had to ask help from other fishermen to fill their boats with fish too.
This is the key to massive abundance.
To earn big money, you’ve got to share both your work and your wealth to others.
There are rich people I know who share their work but not their wealth to others. They find out that this doesn’t work. After awhile, your workers will leave you, compete with you, and ultimately destroy you.
Let me close with a story.
Remove The Invisible Wall
One day, a group of scientists placed a bunch of fish in a large aquarium. The fish were free to swim around their glass house. But one day, the scientists fixed a glass barrier in the middle of an aquarium. Because it was glass, the fish couldn’t see it. It was like an invisible wall dividing the aquarium.
When the fish wanted to swim to the other side, they bumped on this invisible wall. Not only was it painful, it was also very confusing. For awhile, they kept swimming towards the wall and hitting it. It was very disorienting for the fish.
After a few more painful and jarring attempts, they finally gave up. And they settled themselves to live in one side of the aquarium.
When the scientists noticed that, they pulled out the glass barrier.
And this was what the researchers found out: Even if the glass barrier was no longer there, the fish didn’t even try to cross to the other side of the aquarium.
Because even if the invisible wall was no longer in the aquarium, the invisible wall was still in their minds.
That’s exactly what happens to people.
When it comes to earning money, there are two sides. You can earn small or you can earn big.
What separates the two is an invisible wall that’s no longer found outside you but inside you.
Perhaps your teachers in school told you that you’re stupid and you’ll never succeed in life. Perhaps your family told you that you’re no good and that you won’t amount to much. Perhaps your friends told that you’d never succeed in life. Perhaps your bosses told you that you’re inept and inefficient.
More common, perhaps you told yourself you’re small.
Like the fish, you’ve settled earning small.
But I’ve got a word from God for you: He is telling you, “You’re my child and I don’t make junk. I don’t make garbage. I don’t make trash. I made you great. I put greatness in you. And I gave you all that you need for great success.”
Everyday, that invisible wall in your mind is telling you, “You can only earn small because you’re a small person.”
But God is a big God and He doesn’t make small people. You need to remove that invisible wall from your mind.
How?
I can help. I believe in the trickle effect.
Every week, read my Soulfood Letter each week. Come to the Feast (our weekly gathering) and hear God’s Word. Or join the TrulyRichClub by logging onto www.TrulyRichClub.com Hear the magnificent truth about who you are.
Today, create a new belief and say, “I can earn any amount I want to earn.”
God Is Giving You A Blank Check Today
I believe that in life, God gives you a blank check.
He’s already signed it.
And He’s saying, “How much do you need? How much do you want to earn?”
At the end of the day, it’s really all up to you.
Go ahead. Get a real personal check.
And write your desired monthly income or yearly income you want to receive 12 months from now.
Put this check in your wallet.
Everyday, pull it out and pray for it. Believe that it will happen.
And during the next 12 months, grow your value. Grow your competence, consciousness, and character. Grow your determination, differentiation, and delegation. Be remarkable. Be phenomenal. Be a superstar.
Earn as much as you can, love as much as you can.
May your dreams come true,
Bo Sanchez

you know what, Bro. Bo? I was just a government employee, and what you said is true like the Fish in the aquarium. I just told myself, “dito na ako magre-retire”. That I will just wait for the monthly salary that the government is paying me. I’m still thinking, how will I earn when I”m stuck here? And now, little by little, through your inspiring letters to me, I’m thinking of new and different way on how to earn outside government service. Honestly, before, iniisip ko, talagang hanggang dito na lang ako, kasi hindi naman ako lawyer or CPA, and hindi naman ako mag-aabroad to earn more, but now, more possible answers to my questions is being open up on the table.
Thank you for the Word of God and thank you for inspiring me to read more of God’s Word. I pray, that my next email to you would be good news. God bless you more!

hi bro. bo!
learned about a month ago that i have tyroid cancer. i know God did not give this to me for nothing.. i was certain He has a purpose… for you once said and have not forgotten…Your biggest problem will be your biggest blessing…
so i started to read again The Purpose Driven Life book by Rick Warren. God indeed uses people’s abilities to inspire and motivate others to live their live’s purpose.
One of the things i discovered through the book is my life’s passion but i always have difficulty or struggle to consistently make it work.. or work it out.. my stumbling block is my mediocre mindset. this article indeed helped me a lot propell to work harder in healing my stumbling block so i can be my best in serving God! May God continue to use you to inspire others.. i will think of your obedience when God will ask me to serve Him. God bless!
thank you bro.bo…….i am really broke and hurting inside as of now….you lifted me up in a way….thank you.
Dear Bro. Bo,

Bro. Bo, thanks for this Remarkable article….
It is not important what we’ve been through in the past, what we can actually say is SO WHAT, just ignore it. We must dwell on what we want to do with our lives now, be the Best of What we can Become….GOd Bless Us All.
Thanks Bro. Bo. It hits me in the heart and I can’t control my tears. I am relating my current experiences to your article. Thank you for inspiring and bringing God’s word.
hey Matthew, we have read what you have posted..no need of posting it again and again.
It seems to me that you did not grasp the essentials of what Bro. Bo is telling. Bro. Bo is advising us on how we can work with money NOT for money. And working smartly and honestly with money will give you a great chance to help others..the very people of God.
As Bo has frequently stressing..Money is merely a sysmbol, NOT a Master to serve for.
As clear as mentioned, We choose who we want to be and how much value we give ourselves.
I’m not financially wealthy yet but I believe in creating wealth for the benefit of people you love and the ones that need the most.
Thanks Bro. Bo
3 C’s and 3 D’s. I’ll take note of that.
Everytime I read your blogpost, I became a better person. Understanding more the truth about God’s love and the true meaning of being wealthy.
God bless you and your readers more!
Thank you bo for forever blessing us with your inspirational letters. You’ve got lots of ideas that make you and others rich. This is the way to go. Because of the article you just wrote and I just read, I begin to feel that I can create or earn any amount that I want to earn because that is what God wanted for me to do. thanks.
What a stressful day i had in my work but thank God I read Bro.Bo’s words of wisdom again….It lifted me up and releases the tension and stress I have…Horayyyy!!!!
Dear Bro. Bo,
Thanks for the wonderful message. Thanks also for the greetings of Happy Birthday! from kerygma family.I’llbe truly rich in areas of my life.
Robert, that’s good kung ganun, pero before anything pinakamahalaga pa din si Jesus, we should have more emphasis on Him first, to preach the gospel to everyone. because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 6:23). mas mahalaga ang afterlife kasi it will be for eternity. After accepting Jesus as your savior, you will bear good fruits(good deeds Gal 5:22/ Ep 5:9) and then It is God who will provide you with what you need for your ministry to grow, you wont need to work for it. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.(Jn 14:14) You do not have, because you do not ask.(James 4:2) God will answer our prayers if it’s for His glory and if what we’re asking is what we need and not we want. kahit konti lang ang resource mo for now you can use it to do good for His glory at di na kailangan iincrease yun before ka tumulong, then God will bless you back with more.
Hope in Jesus is what we need to share to the people before any financial help
Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?(Matt 6:26)
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But SEEK FIRST HIS KINGDOM and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matt 6:30-33) [do you know where you will go in case you die? if not then you haven’t seen the way to His kingdom]
1 Timothy 6:3 (teaches contentment with what you have is important because money is tempting and will eventually lead to love of money which is evil)
3If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that GODLINESS IS A MEANS TO FINANCIAL GAIN.
excerpts from bo’s recent blog: In one week, John gets P1000. But Lloyd gets P3000. What’s the difference? Both serve food. So why is Lloyd tipped three times more than John? Here’s the answer: John serves food only. Lloyd serves food and happiness and friendship and fun and kindness and hope and affection… In other words, Lloyd serves food and feelings. (if we do it this way then people will love their customers for money and not for who they are)
6BUT GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8BUT IF WE HAVE FOOD AND CLOTHING, WE WILL BE CONTENT WITH THAT. 9PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GET RICH FALL INTO TEMPTATION and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
God will provide. God Bless
Thank you Bro Bo, i was inspired after reading your article, i will try my best to apply what i have read in my daily lives and will do my best to improve my income. You inspired me.

My core gift is trading forex, I have left this many times before and look for other ways of earning but it always point me back to this direction. Today, I declare I’m a successful forex trader and I’ll share this gift to others.
Hi Matthew,
With deep respect, I understand where you are coming from. That is why I agree very much with what Bro. Bo said that “Character is the most important value of all.”
“If you’re a good person, money will give you more opportunities to be good. But if you’re a bad person, money will give you more opportunities to be bad.”
God will always provide for us. But I also believe that we are His hands in this world, and He uses us to be a channel of His blessings to others so that we may become perfect in love.
It really depends on your heart what you do with the money you are blessed with. Money is neutral, it is the person who determines how it will be used, whether for good or bad.
I believe those that have not grown their character are those that are tempted towards the “love of money” which becomes a trap for them. But if you are rooted in God and molded in His character, you will use these resources He provides according to His will.
If one has good character and a good heart, he will be able to use his wealth to love others more and bring God’s gospel to those who need it the most.
Character is essential so that we may be able to use money as it is, just a tool and a symbol, that should be used for God’s purposes, to bless others as He blesses us. Not everyone are called to be poor, most of us are called to be channels of blessings to others. Think of those who own companies that give many people jobs and provide for their families. Without the creation of wealth, many people will be in dire poverty, the poverty that brings people to desperation, that robs them of their God-given dignity. I believe God wants us to be truly rich because we are His children and wants for us to share His blessings to others. God wants us to grow in love and generosity too, because He wants to mold us into His character, to love others like he does with the blessings he gives us. We are blessed to be a blessing.
*Character is key, and the antidote against that which one fears, “love for money.”

Good day !
Life here on earth is very short and the life hereafter is forever !
Time well spent on this earth, are times spent in loving God and neighbor. Time wasted in useless pursuits are times wasted and gone and can never be retrieved.
Let us build riches in Heaven ” Where neither rust nor moth consumes, nor thieves break in and steal, for where thy treasure is, there also will thy heart be. ”
Let us not lose focus on our goal, to attain Heaven at all cost ‘midst our earthly endeavors, that we may joyfully and lovingly praise God in the Heavenly Banquet for All Eternity !
Have a very good day everyone !
BE HAPPY !!!
Thanks Bro. Bo and Family !
a great eye opener..can you send us what was discuused in the so called FEAST please? eager to learn and to understand.
Hello Marj,
Thank you for your nice reply. I know you will use the money for good and that the money is a blessing from God so you will have something to share with. but for me, i think God can bless each one of us directly. I believe God wants us to be generous for the current blessings we have, whatever amount. no need to increase it before helping coz that is like saying “I can’t love with this amount, I need more before i can do something”. even thieves steal for good reasons, so we cant say that money can be used for good coz theives can say say that too
BTW, God said no one is good:
“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good–except God alone. Mark 10:18
there is none who does good, not even one. Psalm 14:3
We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. Isaiah 64:6
Jesus said in this world we will suffer but the hope in Him will never fail us. all through out history, christians never had a decent life rather it was tainted by persecution, the reason why most of the bible verses are about hope. Paul said we need to endure these sufferings because it’s only for a short time.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 see also John 15:18-23, 1 John 2:15-17 & 2 Corinthians 1:5
So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.1 Peter 4:19
If riches were a reasonable goal for the godly, Jesus would have pursued it. But He did not, preferring instead to have no place to lay His head (Matthew 8:20 Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” ) and teaching His disciples to do the same. It should also be remembered that the only disciple concerned with wealth was Judas.
“Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” James 4:13-16
reality check there maybe some church members who will use the money for selfish goals. and that one day even us, this good character of ours will fail us because of man’s sinful nature(Gal 5:17/Rom 7:5), when we have the money in front of us there will be a day that we will be tempted to love it or use it for worldly things. the reason why we should choose to be in the middle. im not saying we should be rich nor poor but whatever God gives us is always enough
Solomon said,
Keep falsehood and lies far from me; GIVE ME NEITHER POVERTY OR RICHES, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. proverbs 30:8-9
“NO ONE can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. YOU CANNOT serve both God and Money. Matthew 6:24 (if anyone can do this that means the bible is a lie, people will say we dont serve for money, i know but in the end you will be tempted and will cause you to fall because of man’s sinful nature no matter what good character you have, so its better to be contented with what you have 1 Tim 6:3)
God bless

Hi Bo,
I’ve been struggling for the past six months trying to figure out how to increase my financial stability. Your inspirational messages through soulfood motivated me to give more beyond expectation.
A major decision made to unleash poverty from not being well compensated in my recent job. I had increased my competence, consciousness & character to face challenge of rare opportunities laid down before me.
With divine guidance from Almighty God, He granted my prayer request of an increment. The company treasured my skills and competence doing great with my job.
Thanks Bo for the inspiration. God bless.
Hi, bo
I love you bro, you are my best mentor. I always read your article and i am so inspired everytime ive read it. Ive learned many things from you. I really copied it to my computer. You are true that we have to earn more so that we can give more to the less fortunate, and its really a great feeling when you give.right?! And from you also, I’ve realized that God’s blessing is a downpour of blessing if we know how to sow and if we trust Him deeply. Thanks a lot for inspiring me and other people. God bless!
good day bro bo!
a million thanks for really opening up your self to us in all aspects of your life.
it’s like seeing my life through you. my childhood was just like yours. since you’ve been successfully blessed, i know i will make it big too.
Matthew,
I understand where you are coming from. Our saviour Jesus Christ came and went in this world without any financial wealth. And He even sent his disciples with the instruction to bring nothing but staff. Why? Because the situation asked of it and it could not be done in any other way. And Jesus knows that God will provide. Manna in midst of wilderness, right words when tested, a future where there was no future. But, what if one has Resources? He has given an instruction as well: To give it to the poor and have wealth in heaven and follow Him. And this is what Bro. Bo is doing and sharing right now. We first have to come to God. We should seek first His Kingdom then all else will follow. If one fails to determine His kingdom then he will not be able to give and share any kind of his wealth to anyone in a Godly way. I do not see anything wrong in expanding your wealth (All types) to be able to share and love More for the Greater glory of His name. This is what you must try to understand. God has given us so much and that we must make use of them to be more like Him and create heaven here on earth just like what Jesus did when He became one of us.
hi bo,
wow im so much relieve…. your such an inspiration, your a blessing for everyone, i just read your blogpost, and its a perfect timing for me to read those, i just lost my job, and i dont know where to go and what to do, im planning to have a small business again, but after i lost my job im really feel down and hopeless, and here it is… God send you to me, used your blog to remind me that i still have my life, hope and continue evrything life’s has to offer…. thank you so much=))))) you help me a lot, I mean you add fuel to my hopeless mind… after reading the story i feel like i want to start again and make the most out of my life and work, its all bout being with God, determination and Character…
Thanks bro. Bo, it really inspired me, this statement hit me hard. “If you’re income is “normal”, that means your work is “normal” too. If you want your income to be phenomenal, you’ve got to make your work phenomenal too.”
Im planning to quit my job and look for another with much higher salary, but after reading this blog of yours i was surprised. Maybe its the way i approached it that needs to be change.
Thank you for sharing this to all of us (–,)
thanks bro. bo for another inspiring message. i just love the way you nail your message in between sobs and laughs…i’m a doctor here in manila and though my income is not as sky-rocketing high as my doctor & nurse friends from abroad i can say i’m pretty much fulfilled with my practice at present… really, it’s not always the money but the fulfillment in my heart that i enjoy what i do, i enjoy the friendships i share w/ my patients and i get to be paid (in cash and in kind!) at the same time. God bless!!
Robert,
yes bro it’s coming from the scriptures, while i don’t know where it says that we need to be rich to help others financially. the situation is still the same and it doesn’t change, we are all sinners and we need to understand the gospel, the gospel says that Jesus died for our sins and we should be contented with what we have, that’s the gist of it. good works come after the saving faith, and it can be any kind of good deeds other than money, it can also be sharing the gospel. the question is, is money really the first thing everyone needs? i think it’s Jesus.
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35
That’s how satisfying God is. you will be contented in Him and everything He gives you. because DESIRING something else that is not given to you means you are not satisfied in Him, and it’s a trap. God is most glorified in you when you are most satisfied in Him in the midst of loss. by faith alone(no deeds) you glorify God(Romans 4:20) because it’s like I’m the needy one He’s the rich one, Im the foolish one He’s the wise one I’m the hungry one He’s got the bread, Im the thirsty one He’s got the drink. THAT MAKES GOD LOOK GLORIOUS. you said “I do not see anything wrong in expanding your wealth (All types) to be able to share and love More for the Greater glory of His name”,
1 timothy 6:9 answers you, “People who WANT to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.”
the desire itself is already a temptation. it’s easy to say you want to help others but in the end our sinful nature will fail us and this day or another you will use the money for selfish goals(unless the bible is a lie). the reason why the scripture says ” you cannot serve 2 masters”, whatever goal you may have for your wealth, “you cant”, unless the bible is a lie, it’s not about you’ll use it for good but it says money is sooo tempting that one day you wouldn’t know you’ll be under it so its better to be contented with what you have and the choice is only between God and money, there’s no middle(unless the bible is a lie or the bible says so), look how judas was tempted. the reason why solomon said “give me neither poverty nor riches but my daily bread, don’t make me rich that i may forget you nor make me poor that i may steal dishonoring your name” proverbs 30:8-9
*to be continued
*continuation
seek first His kingdom and everything else will be given to you. it means after the saving faith God will give you what you NEED. indeed God will provide with what you need not excessive wealth. if God gives you wealth then that’s what you need, no need to aspire nor work for it. “do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ seek first and all these(food drink clothes) will follow, if you have food drink and clothes that’s God’s blessing, we should be contented.. not abundance in wealth so that you may help others, even at our current state we can help others first with the gospel and then financial aid because we only need that to survive in this world, what’s important is the afterlife, that’s another type of generosity also sharing the gospel, you see its not only money, of course you also need to give wealth but you dont need abundance. “God loves a cheerful giver”(2 cor 9:7), if you cant give now at your current state then you are not a cheerful giver coz you need more before you can give and God doesn’t need that money. God blesses people directly no need for second hand blessings, even the smallest things like waking up, tell me, for all the sins we’ve done do we really deserve to wake up? God is waiting for us to repent, that’s grace. people are focused on bigger things they forgot the smallest yet important things
seek first His kingdom.. have you? if you die right now do you know where you’ll go? you said you believe in Jesus, which one? didn’t you know there are many kinds of Jesus, only one is real and the rest are counterfeits. are you sure you got the right one? 2 cor 11:4
I dont think this practical gospel(revised prosperity) is the same gospel of Jesus Christ but one thing is for sure, the bible said
“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! Galatians 1:8
God Bless
sorry, but i think Bo twisted the bible(Luke 5:4-7). the story is not about wealth but FAITH. Jesus told the apostles to go to deeper water and to LET GO OF THE NET, Peter has a strong faith he said they were working all night and caught nothing, knowing Jesus as a carpenter and not a fisherman, he still said “But if you say so, I will let down the nets”.. he knows there’s nothing to catch and Jesus is not a fisherman yet he still followed Him, THATS FAITH. another thing, the story is not about money but fish, neither did it say that those catch made the apostles wealthy
i emphasized on “let go of the net” because it symbolizes human effort or good works to attain heaven. we are saved by faith alone and good works are the fruit of saving faith. not faith plus works = salvation. while bo emphasized on “push the boat to deeper water” which doesnt mean a thing, he made it look like it symbolizes “work harder” but i think he has no basis for that. all stories in the bible are about faith and God’s grace. God saved us by Grace which we can get through faith alone. it is a gift, if you work for it you can no longer call it a gift.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:9
But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, NOT BECAUSE OF WORKS DONE BY US IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, Titus 3:4-6
hi Bo,

I confess that I’m one of the thousands of your fans in the world today. I really like the way you write an articles and your published books. Just as the bible says that you must test the spirit, I have no doubt in my mind that yours is truly one of the works in the hands of GOD. A VERY INSPIRING ARTICLE! Thank you Bro. Bo
hi there! I really like this article and it’s just what I needed. I have lost track of myself after I experienced great loss in my life and then a sudden change all at the same time. A change of status and a change of career. I want to take care of animals and breed them but I also need the finances to start it up and right now. I don’t have it so I am resorting to other sources of income which I really am not so good at. But anyway, I’ll keep this in mind all the time. Thank you!

just want to ask something, hope you still have time to reply, thanx
I so agree with you Matthew! Amen to everything you said. That’s the truth! So many false gospels and false teachers we all have to be discerning. And we can only know the truth if we are grounded in the Word of God. Sad to say a lot of people professing to be Christians don’t even bother to read and study the Bible so they get easily swayed by any wind of doctrines. Doesn’t mean that if it sounds good, it is true. There’s a way that seems right to a man but its end is destruction.
Thank you very much for inspiring me today Bro. Bo. I know what my core gift is. What I need to learn more is having enough competence..
God bless you always! Thank you for your words of wisdom which really inspire a lot people even in our workplace, my colleagues and students!
hi bro. bo,
I used to read Kerygma before. I really liked that book. Just so happened lumaki ang pamilya ko and now so hard for me to buy one na this days.
First time that i read this very inspiring article of yours. I then so depressed, down, stressed and hurting inside as of now… when i open my fb and saw your article “Earn as much as you can…” and read about the story of REMOVE THE INVISIBLE WALL… i know that God has something for me to learned about. and God is really GREAT!!!
Thanks bro. bo for this very wonderful and inspiring article. Will pray for you always and your ministry. Keep up spreading the good news to everyone!!!
Although most comments here are positive, I find the article rather disturbing. The idea that God wants us rich is baloney. It’s creating a false idol. You don’t measure your self-worth by your net worth. There are millions of faithful followers of Christ who live in poverty. Why isn’t everyone in the church a millionaire? The paradigm of who we are as humans in the Bible is not the Happiness Machine. The paradigm of the human is the Cross. Jesus told his followers to take up the cross every day andAlthough most comments here are positive, I find the article rather disturbing. The idea that God wants us rich is baloney. It’s creating a false idol. You don’t measure your self-worth by your net worth. I can show you millions of faithful followers of Christ who live in poverty. Why isn’t everyone in the church a millionaire? The paradigm of who we are as humans in the Bible is not the Happiness Machine. The paradigm of the human is the Cross! Jesus told his followers to take up the cross every day and that meant to be ready to suffer (Luke 9:23). Jesus was crucified for us and we are called to die with him (Romans 6). The deepest paradigm for the human in the Bible is the human who has died with Christ, died to self, died to everything we want, died to the world, and died to the flesh. We are called not to seek our OWN happiness but to seek the glory of God by giving ourselves to God and for others. This article seems to focus primarily on “getting our wants.” The cross gospel focuses on “giving our selves.” Love of God means to live for God; love of self means to die to self so we can love God and others; love of others means dying to self so we can serve others. We are not Happiness or Wealth Machines but Loving Machines.
This is absolutely less than a half-truth. The God of the Bible is good; the God of the Bible indeed blesses. But the God of the Bible is the God who will see us through regardless of the circumstances. God blesses and we raise our hands in thanks. But other times we are not experiencing the blessing of God (or at least we think we are not), and what we learn is that God is there, watching and waiting for us to trust him, obey him, and learn that in loving him we have life’s deepest blessing. He’s with us, through thick and thin. Some days are good and we thank God for his blessings. Some days are difficult and we are summoned by the good God to trust, to be faithful, not to lose heart, and to hang on in the hope that Someday, Somehow God will step into history one more time and turn the world upside down so that justice will be established, peace will reign, and love will connect everyone. We may or we may not be prosperous; what we are called to be is faithful and loving.
You really bless my life everyday! Your Gods apostle teaching us to do HIS will. Thank you so much!
Your article is very timing, I do have a business right now and I know in Gods time it will prosper. He is guiding me right now, talagang everday I just trust in the Lord and He lead me to the right path. Good nman po ang intention with my new business kaya nga siguro tinutulungan ako ni Lord. Actually, my new business is empowering yourself by empowering others. Ganda pong pakinggan diba, pero as I go on realize that hindi lang pala yung sarili mo ang importante when you proper but most especially other people n makakasama mo.
I gain new friends and mentor here like what you side on your previous article ipinagpray ko po ng dumating ang mentor ko and Gods answer my prayer.
As i wake up in the morning I thank the Lord for the new day He has given me, and ask Him to make my life a blessing to every person I encounter.
Thank you Bro. Bo! Hope to see you soon! My friend Elmer nga po pala was one of your missionary.
God Bless You with a Joyful and Healthy Life!
Yours truly,
Jasmin and family
